Lehner 3100 xl on 14 cells ya or na ?. -
12.11.2005, 08:04 PM
I've asked before but i cant rember , sorry for asking again. Can the 3100xl be run on 14 cells or would i be better trading or selling it for a 9l or 7xl 0r maybe a 10l ?.
The reason i would like to know why is. I was charging my 7 cell pack & 1 cell started smoking & swelled ,so its no good. So i took the remaing cells & converted all my 6 cell packs to 7 cell packs. So i'm going to stick with 7 cell packs. So i need to now if the 3100xl can handle 14 cells. Thanks

i assume it should. That swelling i beielive is when its venting. I've never seen it, but teh name "VENTING" kindaa implies that. That happens sometiems. I dont bleive it has anythign to do with u rmotor. But how about i trade u my 9l, for ur xl?

I don't know. that will be about 52000 RPM which is a little over the 35 to 40000 mark everybody here says is optimum

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

That motor is rated to 65,000 RPM, so it should be just fine, as long as your controller does not have that 42000 RPM limit.

Id trade off that 3100 xl, just to be safe, it would be a waste to burn out a motor like that, they arent too cheap!
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL
