Cool Project Charity-X - 02.26.2009, 10:55 PM

Was chatting to a couple of people today about starting a general thread for charity builds...

The idea being to take a couple of basic cars such as e-maxx / revo and collate spares to see if we could build a truck or two.

Once a truck it would be sold and the funds pooled into a charity fund...

I know everyone is tapped out and between pizza, nails and eggs I always seem to be hitting you up...

The idea here was odd parts from old builds rather than $'s...

LMK what you think...

I am already doing this, building a mildly hopped up 3905 maxx that will be raffled off to one of the RCM members and all profits will be donated to an animal shelter or children's hospital or something.

I'm game!

I have plenty of Revo and EMaxx parts. And heaps of Savage stuff too. There's a RTR Nitro Savage here that I would donate if somebody does a conversion on it.

Send me a pm if I can contribute something.

This is a great idea. WE need BrianG to make this a sticky.

I am sure most of us can scrounge up parts to chip in to the bin.....

I would think it would be nice for everyone to post what they have and would donate then create an inventory sheet of parts for each type of truck. Then different people could volunteer to do the builds. I would be happy to work on an excel spreadsheet to help start this out.

I think we should start with 4/5 builds:

- E- Maxx (BL-REVO)
- Revo (TBC)
- Savage (TBC)
- Nitro Savage conversion(TBC)
- Rustler/Stampede (TBC)

Need some members to take the lead on each build...

I think adding an LST/2/Aftershock would be good too.

I have basically ( checked it out) a Speed-T (losi rustler but faster) ready to roll if it had $25 of parts, ( it has no motor esc etc) just needs a chassis $12 and a front bulk thing. I personally would put it together and offer it to any azz fart who wanted it but this is a help someone thing so I assume some dildo can kick something down. Ill ship it free to da man wid da plan

I'd be game to take on a chairity build. Right now I only have a crt .5 and a micro t, which doesn't really count. Another vehicle would be great!

I will probably use a mm/3-4s setup. I don't know a motor yet though... If you have something you'd donate let me know! I think a savage or 2wd truck would be good for me. I'll send a couple pm's out...

Metsllover you have the whole idea - you build a car from donated spares and then the car is SOLD.

The cash goes into a charity fund...

I had it wrong the whole time... I thought this was like a pay it forward thing...

If I get to keep the car for a summer or two it would definately be worth it.

I also thought of a rc-monster "trophy car". One person has a car and they give it away to another member. When that member gets tired of it they put it back up for grabs. Nothing can ge sold off it.

I am game for helping out where I can. Still have a few emaxx parts (flm chassis, UE knuckleheads) left over which I was thinking of putting in the PIF thread. Let me know.

Happy to help out - got lots of bits and pieces that I am willing to donate. I am trying to do that at my local model shop but the chap who runs it says it would be difficult to manage as everybody will be pleading poverty and asking for the free bits.
