Couldn't tell you what version it has. I just bought it from Amain Hobbies a couple of months ago. Although I have all the cables, I have not been brave enough to try and update the firmware yet...the instructions on how to update the firmware are dicey at best

I just went thru that with a FlyCam, had to do it to sync audio and video.
jlustig you might want to contact Hyperion and see if they'll do a swap for a new unit. I love my duo- but I think it sucks the owners of the older versions have to shell ot more $ to get it up to snuff, they easily could have used a standard USB- it's things like that which detract from overall product satisfaction, maybe you could borrow someone's cable?

- Forgot to mention, it sounds like yours may have issues other than firmware, so you may have some luck getting it replaced- worth a shot....

as soon as you power up your charger it will tell you which version your firmware is on the first screen...
my charger starts up as soon as i turn the power source on without a battery connected

Ya i think it may have issues cause i got it from bishop power when troy still was there. I got it about 4 or 5 months ago and but i havent tried to use it till the other day when my power supply arrived.I will email bishop power and see what they think. By the way i got that 40a ps , im unable to test it yet but it looks cool, lol. later man.

That's gonna be all the ps you ever need, that will run 2 duos at a moderate charge rate.

The charger should definetely come on as soon as it gets power, and WITHOUT having a pack connected-hope you can come to a good conclusion with either Hyperion or BPP.

after reading the firmware update process and seeing in BIG RED LETTERS you are SCREWED if the update does not work i would sell my charger and buy a new one before attempting the update.

Firmware update was simple enough.

I like the new features like: The fact that it automatically starts charging after a short count down if you forget to confirm with the button push (i would forget to do the final button confirmation a lot and would come back to my charger later on thinking it had started charging, but instead it was still waiting for me to confirm)

It also does standard charging and now "Store Mode", which will charge or discharge (depending on the state of your pack) your pack to 60% capacity for storage.

Losi 8 Buggy + Truggy & Associated SC8
Tekno RC Conversion Kits on all
MMM, MGM, Xcelorin ESC's
Tekno Neu "square can" brushless motors
Polyquest - Neu - Flight Power LiPo's

to put new firmware on the duo do have to have the charger turned on cause my charger wont turn on unless i have a battery plugged in along with the balance tap to that battery. For some reason my duo doesnt turn on when i turn the ps on. it wont charge anything and its supposably brand new. I got it from bishop power products for $239. That is a pretty expensive bench ornament. To anyone that reads this i recomend they never buy anything from bishop power products because they arent replacing this charger i bought and i never even got to charge a single battery with it.

You need to deal directly with Hyperion then. Just give them all the same info and they hopefully will work with you.....
