NFS Series Games "The good, the bad, the ugly" -
02.01.2009, 05:08 PM
Just wanted to see what you guys think of EA games NFS series games. Heres what I think...
The Good- NFS Hot Pursuit 2, NFS Carbon, NFS Most Wanted
The Bad- NFS Hot Pursuit 1, NFS Undercover
The Ugly- NFS Prostreet
I think NFS HP2 by far had the best soundtrack. Most wanted had the most action and carbon had the best choice of cars and upgrade possibilities.
Here are two of my fav songs from HP2...

I love HP2,, It's just so ghetto. I agree on the music too. I've got NFS HP2, NFS Underground, NFS underground 2, and NFS Most wanted. My favorite though has to be most wanted. I should point out I've got a ps2 so it's not like the graphics on Most watned are better then Underground series...

Ya I am using a ps3 80gb with the hd setup. Really makes no difference on older games.

I have Porshe Unleashed, HP2, UG1, and UG2. My favorite is HP2, then Porsche Unleased. The other two I don't ever like or play. Hell, I prefer Midtown Madness 2 to the UG games.
The main weakness in UG IMO is the game focuses too much on pimping the car. I'm not a 12 year old kid who likes blinging. Personally, they should have two modes; poser mode and driving mode. Poser mode would appease the kids, and the driving mode would appeal more to the bigger kids like myself.

I used to *love* Porsche Unleashed. They just put so much time and effort into that game. Graphics were sweet for their time, physics were good enough to be fun, but possible to drive on a keyboard...and the Factory Driver mode was awesome. The whole thing I just found was very immersive, and didn't have any stupid car pimping; just mechanical upgrades. I wish I still had it, as it was one of their best IMO.

How was undercover anyways? I have it on my cue at Gamefly and have been waiting for it. I loved most of the other NFS games, prostreet excluded. HP and HP2 were my favorites. Carbon was alright, and I do like to pimp my ride, a little. But performance always, always comes first.
Go fast first, look good doing it, second.

My favorite is Most Wanted, it has an awesome Free Roam mode. The tuning options in Carbon were good, but I was not impressed with the rest of it. ProFail wasn't good either. But, Hot Pursuit 2 is a good example of a timeless game, it's always fun. Any updates on the newest one?

Underground one has to be the most bad ass need for speed.
You can go up to other cars in free roam and race them. That is the most high-ridin s***...

I have had every NFS game except carbon and prostreet, plan to get them though. I rather like pimpin' my rides, if u like classy and pure performance play Gran Turismo (which i also love). I would like to see some of the classic nfs games be remade though, there was one that leaves would blow off the road when u was driving; real detail. Also it is always daytime when u go driving, how bout some night driving. U can't beat freeroam on Undercover, the whole Tri-City area is connected by freeway, literally hours of driving. The only problem i have with it is that the storyline isn't complex enough and is quite short. In my opinion, Most Wanted has the best storyline. You really can't complain about any of the NFS games. This is off subject, but The New Beginning series of Spyro the Dragon games are great. The storyline is easy to understand but is very complex and challenging to complete. U feel as though u actually are saving the world.

Not really related, but I really enjoy gta4 for xbox. There is just something cool about being able to sit on top of a building and snipe old ladies... I have not really "played" the game but I have spent hours perfecting my driving skills.
