Losi 8T 2.0 E Opinions - 02.13.2009, 08:36 AM

Hello,

I had a plan for this racing season but now it's getting all mixed up and I can't help but wonder if I should just go with the new Losi 8T and 8 Buggy 2.0's. I wonder if any of you have opinions on the vehicles and the Losi conversion kits. I'd be most curious to hear about durability and race worthiness.

If you don't have a 2.0, I'd also welcome feedback on the original releases as well.

Thanks,

I'm running the 8T as a basher right now. Takes a good beating! Nice solid truck. I'll be racing it this summer. I'm using Losi's electric conversion kit and I have NO complaints about it, very nicely laid out kit.

We got got the T-2.0 in a few days ago so we havn't had a customer buy one yet so we could open the box and have a look :D

I run the original 8T and 8B 1.0 and was a Kyosho lover before that. I actually chose the 8T because I wanted to run the Tekno RC conversion and use their clutch system. My 8T was used but I put the time to build it back up to my specs. So far this truggy has been very tough. I have truly not had any mechanical issues/failures and I have been running the 8T in its brushless for over 4 months now. The only thing I personally have not been able to solve is stopping my center diff from leaking. For that I have ordered the smart diff and hopefully that won't leak grease.

Since I wanted to have a buggy too, I was able to find a 8B 1.0 Roller on eBay for $265 shipped and converted it exactly the same way I did my 8T. Today was my first run with it at the track, and I did not have any mechanical issues/failures after 5 20+ minute runs with tons of crashes and flips. I have turned into a Losi lover now and can see why a lot of folks run them. Parts are plenty and the cars last.......as for whether they drive better than other brands, I am not good enough to tell. I just drive what I got and try to get it around the track as quickly as I can. Hope my input helps.

I just broke my 8T brushless tonight for the first time. Snapped a rear CVD :( Still, a very, very tough truck!
