Over the last week in applied tech, I built a Co2 dragster. I took every little detail into consideration. I wanted to have the top aerodynamics, nicest paint, smoothest spinning wheels and I guess I did!

Mine was the lightest at 64 grams and the fastest at 32.4mph. I was nervous the entire time but I did it!

I went undefeated! I am going to the district finals in May!!! I am so excited! If there is one thing I am good at in school, its definitely applied tech.

Man that brings me back... 8th grade shop class had similar races... May I ask what grade of schooling?

What a coincidence! I won my school's CO2 car races in 8th grade as well. Here is a pic of mine.

Thats pretty sweet! I made mine out of a block of wood.

Back in 7th grade my co2 car was the fastest in the whole school. We had to carve ours out of wood. I made mine looks so BA.

The teacher had a really nice co2 car that beat everyone who faced it. I beat him handily. It was a whole lot of fun. I went to the extent to put graphite lubricant in the axles. We didn't have speeds and I can't remember the time, but it was really dang fast.

Mines looks a lot like that! I went in favor of my old 18T and did a blue to black fade. Unfortunatly my teacher doesnt have one.

I hope I can be the fastest in the school. I will have some competition. So far I am the fastest in my grade.

Yes! We need some pics! I loved doing stuff like that back in the day.

I never got to build a C02 car, but we did have a lab in AP Physics (senior year HS) where we had to build a box no bigger than 10cm^3 that would protect a pringle from a 10# weight slid down a track into it. I built the biggest box, and built a smaller box inside to hold the pringle. The smaller box was suspended by an elastic band from each corner and held at off-angles from the faces. It took 5 hits on the same side and the pringle didn't break.

Edit: BTW- It was normal corrugated cardboard.
