Hi guys, been a while.

I sold my Supermaxx back in Autumn last year, got a nice £1200 for it, which was a pretty sweet deal! I was running 6s with a 7XL, lotsa fun. :D

I'm considering getting the Associated RC8Te when it comes out in the UK next month and I'm planning what system to put in it.

I've got the old question of, 6s or 8s? I wouldn't mind stepping up to the Neus with 8s... just wondering how much am I expecting to notice, by leaving the MMM 6s setup behind?

IMO not enough to really make it worth while, if you did go up go to 10s but I think that would be too much weight in the RC8...I would convert the nitro RC8 to electric from what I have heard the factory E version uses cheaper parts

I run 2 4S 3200-3700mAh packs in series in my 8S set up with the Neu 1515/2Y and it's just the incredible set up I've had yet. My spikes are in the 60A (Which is 1776 watts of pure torque heaven) and everything just runs super cool. With a fully charged pack (3700mAh 25C) I've ran my truggy once for close to 50 minutes (Not continuously, but ran 30 minutes continuous). I got bored after 30 minutes though and messed around with another vehicle and ran another 20 minutes with my truggy afterwards. A lot of confusion comes when people say an HV set up is best for high speed runs. Well that can be true, but to fully appriciate the values, you have to get the right set up and you can basically run all day long with a few packs which is great when bashing with friends, but not so good when running alone . What sort of RPM do you get with the Neu 1515/2Y? I imagine there is a lot of power!

It depends on which math you want to use. If one wants to use 4.2V per cell then 8S will be 33.6V which equals to 36960rpm. I like to go with 3.7V per cell and that gives me 29.6V which equals to 32560rpm. Now voltage can drop bellow that so I'll say I get between 28000 - 30000rpm. That is almost all the power being put to good use as the motor doesn't heat up at all even when you run for over 20 minutes. Gearing is also important and I have my truggy geared for around 34mph without tire ballooning and I can go faster, but when the tires does balloon my truggy is close to 40mph.

I have the same motor with 10s ( 2 Flightpower 5s 3700 packs) and it has the same performance as a 1515/1y with 5s which is very good but runs really cool even with a spurgear/pinion ratio of 40/20.
