Emaxx conversion VS. E revo brushless - 03.10.2009, 10:47 PM

Sorry this is not a shootout, rather a decision I'm trying to make. I started updating my Emaxx for a brushless conversion well before the MMM ever came out. Well, I got busy with whatever and never finished the project. With renewed interest and a desire to stimulate the economy I'm thinking of either finishing my "old" project or just ditching it and getting the Revo brushless.

From a cost standpoint I think it would be cheaper just to get the revo, but I'll take some imput. What have I done to the maxx? I guess as far as handling the increased power load the only real thing I have done is upgrade the center shafts and the axle shafts to all 4 wheels. I still have the stock tranny and diffs. I have the single motor mount and dust cover.

I was thinking "back then" I would get the hybrid bulks and buggy gears, a new slipper and perhaps the single speed conv. Plus the thought of a new ext. chassis and the MMM and I figure I will spend more finishing the project than just buying the revo. Whatcha think?

Sounds like the old one. If so get the erevo. It is a great platform, handles better than the maxx. Unless you have a sweet spot for the maxx, I see no reason to take one over the erevo.

I have a 3906 that I have upgraded and an E-Revo. If you like wrenching (and for me $2,197) the Emaxx can be fun.

However, the E-Revo though will cost you less, have less down time due to breakage, and will handle better than the E-Maxx.

It's the older one....3906. I have already invested some money into it beyond what I listed above. 3.3 a-arms, proline shocks, FLM towers...maybe some other things as well, I can't really recall. Any how, a quick math review in my head reveals that it would cost less to just get the revo and that appears to be what you all are saying as well? Is the new brushless version have any strikes against it vs. a conversion. I guess what I mean is it the real deal or is it being tamed down somehow?

Thanks, Joel
