Congrats Tekno! - 02.23.2009, 02:16 PM

Neobuggy.net posted some nice info on Tekno with a few photos. Nice win for Chad Bradley. Some of the pics look suspicious.....What motor is on the Losi in the first pic:

http://www.neobuggy.net/images/News/IMG_0852.JPG

and in the 2nd pic, I think that's a Losi with a black chassis possibly the 8T 2.0?

I want more info! Hurry up and get home Danny....

Thanks.

We managed to capture the win thanks to Chad Bradley.

As for the pictures. The first one may or may not show a prototype motor that we are testing. It is called the Lektron from Tekno and it has been the very best motor I've tested so far. I've been running one in my Losi buggy for weeks now and they have run flawless, with much abuse given. The fact that they are producing efficiency results that rival and surpass the Nue's I've tested are very favorable.

Look out for more information about these sweet looking gems soon, as a release date will also be announced!

In the second picture, you can see a prototype Losi 8ight-T 2.0 chassis we have been working on. We had to paint the chassis black with a spray can when it first arrived in order to take some photos of it. Since it's just paint, it has scratched off in a few spots during use.

These new chassis conversions from Tekno have many new design changes. For one, the battery tray has been sunken in to the chassis, for the lowest CG possible (no one is going to be able to come close to this). Also the balance of the chassis components have been optimized after many track tests.

You dont need to be rocket scientist to see that too much weight was concentrated to rear. Nice move that ESC and RX was moved to front.
One thing yet what I hope that tekno will do... fast battery change...
Then I can admit that Tekno conversions are best in the market. Those straps are real pain if you want to change battery fast.
15-20min mains are possible with one batt, bigger batts will overweight a truggy/buggy and all LCG improovments will be waisted.

Will they be in the neu or medusa price range?

We're shooting for a retail of $169.99 with a street price a little below that. So they should be available for less than Castle, Neu and Tekin. A little more than Medusa though.

Chad was driving the X2 proto at Nitro Challenge. We are close to going into production with it, but not quite yet. It should be somewhat compatible with the X1-CR as well.

Any info on the release of the 8T 2.0 conversion guys as well as the Lektron motors? Right now everyone is waiting for the Tekin stuff to come out so there is nothing new to talk about.
