CRT.5 conversion to the conversion - 03.27.2009, 08:32 AM

Hi,

I like me e-rct alot using my Fullymax 2200mah 11.1v. 25C lipo.
Since these are small in length (+/- 10cm) but low in mah I want to put 2 in parallel to obtain 4400mah.

To do this I want to modify the classic conversion to the following :

So I want a motor mount putting the motor above the rear drive shaft (making pinion changes easier) and putting a lipo on each side of the center diff. I can put my MM esc opposite the servo on the chassis (I use the Ofna extended chassis) the car better.

Problem, I need to find someone to make me this mount + battery trays which would be fixed to both chassis and motor mount. I would also try to make a top deck going from the front diff housing to the rear.

Below a pic of my current set-up.

Have you looked at the RCM extended chassis? It would give you plenty of room...

u could try and filp the center diff and motor mount 180 degree so that the motor will be in the opposite side of the servo , then ull have space at the back to pit 2 packs of lipo , although im not sure if itll work coz i dont have the stock chassis

I know RCM's ext. chassis would give me plenty of room, but I don't want to go to 1/10 scale or bigger (actually don't know the scale of RCM's chassis).

Flipping the diff and motor won't work, cause the motor wouldn't fit between the motor mount and the steering post.

You could always try to use the same cells, but go up in volts and use a lower kv motor. None of this is terribly easy, but may be cheaper than getting tons of custom work done.

Say instead of 2x3s packs, maybe redo the packs into 1 5S 2100 pack and get a ~2000kv motor. If you can resolder packs yourself and sell the motor, this would be easiest and cheapest. I'm assuming this is just for more runtime? Also, if you really want runtime, Neu sells 2500 packs in the same dimensions as well. Maybe even one of RCM packs in a 5s1p? This would be the same runtime as your 3s 4200 pack, if not a touch more. Else cram a std size pack on there in 3S like a lot of others do.

Personally I have a 4S 2100 pack on a 50mm 2200 medusa, and between two pack I can run for a really long time. I usually get bored before both packs are out.

I haven't tested my runtime yet with the 3s 2200mah.
I'm looking at +/-10min. Race time is 6min, but the tracks I race differ in length.

Still going to try to make this motor mount in some way
