Mamba Max: Castle link won't install on Vista - 03.27.2009, 08:08 PM

exactly what it says. i have a new MM and when i put the cd in and try the install i get a message that i can't install the software.
i get this... see attachment

i have Vista 32bit, and i downloaded the exe file from castle web site, and that one gave the same error.

has anyone else ever gotten this message, and if so, what did you do to correct it?

i could manually program the thing, but that just doesn't seem as easy as the castle link

It wouldn't matter anyways. You can't use Vista to program the MM. I found that out a few nights ago. Only thing I have to program via castle link is my little netbook.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the vista thing.

Oh to get it to install, you have to right click on the downloaded app and run it as an administrator.

if you save the file and run as admin then you can use castle controllers with castle link with vista 32 or 64 but i believe that the mamba max does not work with vista for some reason

This is the problem I'm having. I tried on Vista 64, Windows 7 64, and XP 32. Only one my mamba max will work with is XP 32. I would really like to see a software or firmware update that fixes this, now that all computers you buy are going to be loaded with a 64bit OS.
