I had the ST-1 for 7 months before I converted it. I actually had almost all the brushless parts already, but didn't have a motor mount. I sent Mike my center diff assembly which he used to prototype the mount now available on his site. The mount came a bit different from what I expected. I planned on the motor to be mounted on the opposite side so I needed to rearrange my initial planned layout, but no biggy. My setup's changed a bit since that shown in the pic. I run a different spring in the rear (Reckward Tuning Extra Hard Progressive springs) and 4s LiPos.

My setup is as follows:

CC Mamba Max ESC
Turnigy UBEC 6V/3A
KD36 -74-06XL 2800kv BL motor

I'm going to be changing the motor to a Hobbywing EZRun SL3674 2350kV and see how that runs on both 4s and 3s.

Nice setup, I like the st-1 design. you might look into one of mikes motor clamps, If that motor is like a fegaio, it'll come apart on you

Thanks. I glued the rear endbell to help extend the time until the rear flies off and the motor spits its guts out. I don't mind if it does. If/when it does, I'll pick up a nicer motor. I like to develop setups with low cost motors. With my E-Savage, I used a low-cost motor when converting to brushless and I'm glad I did because I killed the motor from way overshimming my rear diff. I would've hated to do that to an expensive motor. Once the setup is working well and the low-cost motor dies, I'll pick up a Medusa.

Wanted to update with new pictures of my ST-1 running a Hobbywing EZRun 150A ESC with SL3674 2350kV motor on 3s. I also run it on 4s, but the 4s packs I have suck (Zippy Flightmax 4000mAh red hardcase...don't get these if you're setup pulls more than 60A! They're rated for 100A, but really they're just over 60A).

I really like it! It runs very smooth and very cool. The ESC stays around 85F and the motor under 95F. Some people reported that they're 150A ESCs do a slight lurching forward motion when going under 1mph, but I don't experience that at all. The program card makes it really easy to change settings any time. It's geared to run 40mph and evcen on 3s, it gets there quick. On 4s, it's quicker, but like I mentioned above, the Zippy hardcase 4s packs suck if you're even close to 80A. If you're setup only pulls around 60A, you're fine. Close to 80A, you risk a cell solder joint opening (one of my packs opened even in my 60A setup). 100A and it's guaranteed to open (all 6 packs out of 6 opened when I ran it in my 100A setup). I also have an EZRun 80A ESC with SL3665 motor in my E-Savage and that thing hauls ass on 4s! It's hard to control my E-Sav, even with a huge 25T pinion, I can't keep the front wheels on the ground most of the time. I have the 60A with 2400kV 17.5T motor, the 80A with 2300kV motor, and the 150A with 2350kV motor and so far, all of them have been great.

Careful with changing the settings. Read that messing with the timing can fry them...

it looks really good. The st-1 is on my list of truggies that i'd be considering for a conversion.

Yeah, I read those threads too about the timing and punch settings. The ST-1 is a nice truggy, but it's narrower and shorter than most others out there. I just got a Duratrax Raze ST truggy and can see where cost savings were made with the raze relative to the st-1, like hex screws and not using e-clips to capture pins.
