Lipo's for the FLUX - 04.13.2009, 12:03 PM

I have been reading a lot and am still kind of lost on what to get. I have a flux that should be here today and I am looking at what lipo I should buy. I have two thoughts I would like feedback on if you can help. The first is speed I would like to have speed. I have a brushless traxxas slash with an 11.1V 5000 Maxamp and it has too much speed. So I am looking to get around 50MPH and good runtime. Out of the list below what would you go with and why. Money is a concern but not at the cost of the ESC. Thanks for you help
Best Regards,

If you want to run 50mph, you're going to want to go 6S lipo and run something other than the stock tires. Geared 20:44 (stock gearing) with 2 X 3S 25C 4900mAh Neu Lipos and Pro-Line Badlands, mine went 53.8mph. Dropping to 19:44 on 6S may still get you to 50mph too, depending on tire ballooning. Anything less than 6S and you'll have to gear up, which I wouldn't recommend doing unless you're dropping to a lot smaller diameter tires.

Thanks for the response Skellyo I guess I do not need to go 50 as I have my slash for just speed runs! I would be happy with 40 and a reliable run time the main thing that I want to do is not have to replace parts before the battery runs out. What would be realistic for 2s on speed? From what I have been reading and correct me if I am wrong, it would be better to get a higher rating on the C and would help protect the ESC.

I've used 2 X 2S 25C PQ5100mAh Lipos in mine with great results: http://rclipos.com/PQ-5100RXP-2S.htm

With the stock tires on it, it'll do about 41-42mph on 4S. 25C or higher packs at 4500+mAh are what I would recommend.

+1 on these lipos for 4s usage. I have a pair and they are great packs. If you want a bit more speed with stock gearing you can always go to 5s, using a 2s and 3s pack. More difficult to find matching packs, but the flux motor works very well on 5s.
