What will break next on my Maxx? - 01.17.2006, 11:52 AM

I'm using HV-Maxx on 14 cells

Have already upgraded

all 4 drive shafts to MIP's
center drive shafts to MIP
Steel idler gears from UE
Will be intalling Gorilla Maxx single speed transmission soon. I think that will leave one plastic gear left in the trans? I would like to replace it any suggestions?

What should i upgrade next the diffs?

No one makes a metal output gear other than OTB that I know of.

The diffs are the next to go. UE diffs will handle anything you can throw at them, but if you are on a budget the maximizer cups will get you by. FLM offers 1/8th scale diffs for the maxx, but I've never seen them up close. Maybe some one here can comment on them

So you guys think the stock diffs wont hold up to a HV on 14 cells?

If i use the UE 8 Spyder diffs what spur and pinion gears will i need? Right now i'm using 70 spur and 14 pinion and i'm happy with the power and speed it gives me.

I use Maximizer and it's more than plenty for diffs'.

The stock diffs are enough to take the HV on 14 cells anyway. I would consider the Gorillamaxx chassis instead.

I never liked the look of the Gorillamaxx chassis i don't like how you can see the batteries below the truck body.

you can always lower the body. I run a chassis similar to the G-Maxx chassis, and I've got some low profile shock towers so the body sits a bit lower and covers up the batts
