Your thoughts on wheels/tires and body on 8ight 1.0.... - 06.07.2009, 11:07 PM

Okay I have all my electric stuff ordered and now some finishing touches. I was going to order a couple sets of these wheels just b/c I think the look pretty sweet.

I wanted two sets of tires to go with. 1st stupid question i assume would be if I were to get some truggy badlands can someone link me or tell me the correct ones to get. Second set of tires I wanted was the Phaltlines which I cant seem to find anywhere, if anyone has any ideas on where to get Im open.

Last I really wanted something different so I was wondering about getting a 2.0 body from Tower...I have a good coupon so I guess to question is will I be able to mount a 2.o truggy body on a 1.0 without having to trim the rear end off. This is the one I was peepen at.

Anyway these are just ideas I was kicking around.

Other then that I am selling some stuff off on ebay for my next build already a sc8e. Man I love them.

I like the look of those style of rims also. The problem I find with rims that are open like is the gravel rocks get in more often and jam up a tire on me. Happens real often with the smaller 1/10th scale rcs but happens to the 1/8th also. It would help to not run in the gravel but that's 70 percent of the places I bash.

I run the regular mt badlands on my STRR truggy. They work good for what I do.

The rims you linked to above are for low profile tires. You might be able to stretch the mt badlands over the rims. I don't think they make a low profile badland tire.

I haven't owned a set of Truggy tires. They just looked too narrow to me. Can't comment on the body fitting for you.

Thanks Gee...I will have to see what kind of results I get with these rims. The badlands I saw on these rims on ebay were "stretched" and I did not know they were the MT so you cleared up my confusion on that one. I will only get one set to test out first with the gravel concern. I will be running into some gravel as well as I plan on doing a bit of desert bashing myself.

Maybe I will get these for the Phaltlines if I can ever find a set.lol. Choose a more suited wheel for off-road bashing and track fun.

As for the body I may just to try it out for $30 and post my results.

Very helpful Gee I appreciate it.
