Power Required Calculator v0.8 Beta - 03.28.2009, 12:52 AM

I have been using a spreadsheet I created to estimate the power necessary to reach a certain speed. I finally put it into an online form so others can input their data and estimate how many watts and amps you will need to go a certain speed. This is similar to Brian's speed calculator, but mine starts with a target top speed and it calculates how many amps and watts you'll need. This is the first version and it is in beta. If you see any problems let me know.

I have been able to get some pretty accurate results comparing experimental data and the theoretical calculations.

The one thing I don't like is the way it outputs the data. It puts the data into a table. I'm not sure how to show the results from just your analysis. I am working on it.

Updated to v0.85. I fixed the transmission input so you can add a decimal value. Sorted the results table by date so the latest entry will be on top.

Results seem pretty close to what I would expect.

LOL, thats funny because all my calculations are in metric, but the output is english.

I'll see if I can make a choice of output options in the next version. Thanks for the feedback.

Or just display both; have one cell metric and another in english.

I had the same quandy in my calc pages as well. I too was going to have a radio button to select the display units, but felt it would be easier to simply display both at once. One less thing for the user to enter...
