For those running 3906s and wanting to run lipo, this seems like an to install lvc. Was wondering if anyone had used one of these? Being substantially cheaper than something like a smart stop doesn't hurt either.
I've got one, but havent tested it yet. The buzzer is the same size as a PC case speaker ( thought it looked familiar...), so it should be fairly audible out to about 20-30 yards away- a constant buzz or beep like that would be hard to miss in an empty field/ park, but a noisy surrounding like busy track would pose issues probably, especially with nitros all around you...
I realize strictly speaking this is not a true lvc, but I'm a basher and 99% of the time I'm by myself except for a couple of spectators. This is so much easier to install and so cheap - all I want/need is a warning, easy enough to mount where you could see it so light would be visible as well.
The track noise issue is not a concern. I'm guessing since this is for planes, the noise is pretty loud and obnoxious.
Worth a shot for the price- you could hook it up to small nimh pack or standard AA batteries that add up to less than the lvc point in terms of voltage, that should trigger the buzzer so you can hear how loud it will be in proper use.
