Vid clip from one of my favorite car shows ever, the Brits' "Top Gear" and my new dream car: the Ariel Atom. Doesn't matter whether you like the 2.0L Honda powerplant or not, they supercharge it to 300hp and dump it in a 1000 pound two seater........flat out amazing power to weight ratio, to say the least. A 2.8 second trot to 60 isn't that bad either!
Now how much would it be to get one to my door? :D
It indeed is a nice piece of engineering, we had an idea like that, but only use a hayabusa engine, with a huge turbo, it could easily do 400 bhp, on about half the weight of the honda engine, which is used in this.
Only dislike, is the way your face looks when your flying by on stopspeed.. Hilarious.. It might use a windshield.. :p
I'd like a zcars monte carlo for sprints and hillcilimbs,Chris and his family know a thing or two about bike engine conversions.Check it outhttp://www.zcars.org.uk/
Also check out the twin hyabusa turbo engined ultima they built,1000bhp,1020bhp per ton.

The turbo's in that thing must be the size of yet turbines! Imagine the lag must be pretty woeful.
Providing it gets enough grip I would say 0-60 in 2 secs and 0-100 in about 4. crazy!

A stock ultima is £55,000, and comes with a 6.3l chevvy V8 thumping out 640bhp (althougth there is a 680bhp version). The older version puts out about 520bhp. Check http://www.ultimacars.com/. The 1000bhp conversion is probly in the region of an extra £100k (just a guess)
