Losi 8T 1.0 --> 2.0? - 05.29.2009, 01:19 AM

im pickin up a losi 8ight-t 1.0 soon
its a roller now and im gonna convert it, and use it mostly for messin around, light bashing, practice at the track, no real racing.

wondering how hard, or if its worth it to convert it to a 2.0
whats different? sofar i know it uses wider a arms and zero offset wheels
shimmable diffs
chassis is longer
and a different gear ratio...

seems like the only thing that would really help is the longer chassis, since the trucks gonna be about the same width since the 1.0 has narrow a arms and offset wheels, kinda cancels eachother out
you can gear it differently to account for the ratio change

is it possible to buy a 2.0 chassis on ebay and swap it out?
am i going to need longer driveshafts also?
what about the body mounts for the rear? id kinda like to run that new truck body losi has, do i need to change the mount to run that body?

Thanks for all the help in advanced

the 2.0's have the longer a-arms for better rough track handling- might be wise to upgrade those too since your gonna be bashing.

the 2.0 also has longer-thicker driveshafts

Anyone know if the 2.0 shock towers line right up w/ the 1.0 chassis and parts.. looks like you could just do a swap but not sure..

Thanks

Stum, call the guys at Tekno.....a couple of them are running 1.0's on 2.0 length chassis and they call them 1.5's. They know exactly what you need to do without you guessing or wasting money. Actually, the owner prefers to run his 1.5 instead of the 2.0.
