6.93 eagletree firmware, not working - 07.14.2009, 06:56 PM

I installed the lastest 6.93 eagletree firmware and control panel on both my PC and logger a few weeks ago, but I could not get it to work. It would work in LIVE mode however. I have tried to change the parameters the recorder has to log, but I can't even find the menu to do so!

Also, I mounted the temp probe inside my 1512... even before I updated software, I could not get the probe to record temps, BUT it will work in LIVE mode.

So I am kinda stumped as I have emailed Eagletree several times, with no reply, that was 3 or more weeks ago.

Any thoughts?

Why not use the latest beta 7.74 release? Both worked fine for me.

Nope, I just tried the newest BETA, doesn't work with my Logger it says. Does Eagletree have a replacement program? Free?

Could you tell me where to change the parameters to log, because for the life of me I cannot find it!

thanks

It's probably in the "hardware" menu. Weird that it works in Live mode, but not in record mode. Makes me think the flash mem chip is bad...

Yeah, live mode works great, temp sensor works and everything.

Yes, under Hardware I have checked, "choose parameters to log in the recorder"... but all it has is motor current, motor voltage.... which is for their expander, or Seagull, whatever it's called.

Check the pic...

Yours looks different than mine, but I'm using the latest beta. Try checking the "electric motor current" and "electric motor voltage" boxes. What exact and version controller are you using. For instance, I have the e-logger v3.

I can't remember which one, either Micropower logger V1, or V2... I bought it in spring of 2007. I'm it's thinking a V2. Even so, they say it should work with the 6.93 software.

I am looking at the recorder firmware, it reads 5.41 for the recorder. Is this what you have?

EDIT: Also, I have found that their directions, and referrals on the program don't even match up with the program itself! Ex. Go here and do this... well that place doesn't even exist in this version... irritating!

Not sure what firmware version I'm running. I can't quite read the computer screen, which is about 4 miles away in my basement and on Standby.

If I think of it, I'll check when I get home, but not sure how much use it will be since I have a V3. The program may display differently for different versions. I know my "what to log" screen has a TON more options on there.

Have you tried uninstalling the software and then re-installing? Shouldn't matter, but these are Windows based computers after all...

FWIW: the V3 has more memory, enough to log V, A, and 1 temp probe for over 40 minutes at the fastest 100ms sampling rate. So, if you have to get a new recorder, at least you can justify it a little easier.

Ah, what's the matter, you can't go home and check for me??

It just seems like the recorder has stopped working altogether when on it's own. I followed the updating procedure to a T, and I still get shafted; I swear I have the worst luck.

I am now thinking about duct tapping a laptop to the truck and using live mode to record?

Running recrder vaersion 7.74, and logger firmware 5.63.

I just noticed a pretty crappy thing though: In the hardware tab, there is an option to instantly upgrade the memory. Apparently, all you do is purchase a code for $10 and you enter that into the recorder software and it mutiplies the logger memory capacity by 4! So, they are either purposely limiting capacity in order to get more cash (which sucks because you paid for something you can't use), or it is activating some type of real-time compression routine in both the logger and recorder software. Either way, I think that's pretty crappy, no?

5.63, okay, that must be with the BETA software then.

Yeah right?! 4x memory boost! That is kinda rude and crude me thinks as well... however $10 is not that much to be honest for getting 4x times more memory available. This opens the door to whole new worlds and opportunities, they are endless!

I am going to try and get a hold of Eagletree again, there is just no way I can get it to work... and maybe upgrade like you said.

BTW, check out my Hyperion G3 thread for some discharge graphs comparing 25C enerlands to the the G3 cells.
