Ive been hearing this, i just want to confirm if its true or not.

No it's not true, but using inadequate batteries for your application can void your warranty. For example, if you tried to use a 6S 2200mah, 20C battery in an ERevo, you would probably void your warranty.

The "Zippy" brand can vary greatly in quality, and the QA is poor -- so use them with caution. The high C rated, high capacity "Zippy" cells would be fine for 4S mild to moderate setups. For really high power applications, I'd suggest using a better quality back.
