Talking Questions about the G2 Brace chassis - 02.23.2006, 11:42 AM

Hello, I'm new here, I'm from Germany, so maybe I make some misstakes in english grammar. I have an E-Maxx with a self-built 100 Amps controller called SBL-MEGA2. And I have a BK Wanderer 20S motor, this is a brushless motor with around 800Watts.
Center and drive shafts aren't original anymore and the diff cups are from Nova, aluminium. I have new idler gears from UE.
But now, I want to improve the handling. I think that the G-Maxx G2 Brace chassis is a good way to improve this, because the balance point is very low.
Are there any advantages, the Alu-Chassis has got, which the Carbon chassis doesn't have? I like the Carbon chassis more.
Then I read something about this special Motor Mount, does the original one also fit?
I think, this chassis is longer... Can I still use my center shafts?
And there's is an extension available, my Center Shafts will not fit, I know that, there are longer ones I think, but the material is plastic, is this strong enough?

Many Questions, I hope to get many answeres.
And can you please write me, which important misstakes I have made, because it would be good for my English lessons.

Greetz Arne

Take a look at my E-Maxx, in my signature, there's the Link.

Hi Arne, welcome to the forum.

The Carbon Fibre Gmaxx frame is one of the lightest available, The original motormount fits just fine.

May i ask, what 20S that is you are using? and on how many cells?

I have seen that controller, i thought it was normally a 70A controller?

It's normally a 40A controller, but there are two powerboards available, so the Amps become 30A more per Powerboard, up to more than 100A appr.
I've installed two Powerboards, so it's a appr. 100A controller, the inventer sayd, that it cann controll more than 100A, but I driver with 12 Cells, and I have GP3300 cells, they don't bring 100Amps, thus I can't use all this Power.

The MOtor is a 10 turn motor, here's a link:

A 10s powering a emaxx? I thought they were meant for stampedes and such like, I would of thought a emaxx would be way to heavy.

I thinnk it's strong enough, a friend has reached 65 km/h with a gear transmission ratio of 14/66. You can make wheelies. An it isn't a 10S, it's a 20S with 10 Turns, also called Wanderer 2010S

You can'tcompare 8S with 20S, there's a big difference between the prices and sices.
I don't know, if it would be good to invest sooo much money in my e-maxx, chassis, alu suspension..... I go to school and work hard for my money...

Or do you mean a wanderer 20S with 8 turns? How big is it? BK-Electronics shows the 8S as big as a penny.

Chassis isn't any longer. You can use the stock shafts.

I meant the 8S, because i've got the feigao 8S available in S, L and XL it's the same motor, only uses different bearings.

About your grammar mistakes, you can use the online spell-check.

And yes, the gmaxx chassis will improve the handling.

Satisfied with the answers?

And Americans call it aluminum, while English people call it aluminium.

and the last thing; GP3300's can easily deliver the 100 A's.. they can do peaks of 140-150A

One more question, is the extension kit very good for the handling? Longer Center Shaft - more than 40$

It will give you less wheelies, but i don't think that your truck is suffering too much wheelies.

It will increase handling also.

You can try the normal CF chassis first, and if you want to try it, you can always buy it.

some pictures of the CF chassis are on my site, the link is in my profile.

Hi Arne, and welcome to the forum.
I guess Serum answered all your questions. The G chassis really is a nice investment, especially if you race. Day/night difference in handling.

Interesting story about your ESC, Arne.
There's alot of wires on your truck!

I'm the local swissie here, so if ever you feel the need, you can send me a PM in german :)

Cheers
