Some TC4 questions - 07.28.2009, 02:23 AM

I am getting a tc4 from rawfuls soon. as much as I would love to go brushless right away, I want to keep a brushed/nimh setup in there for the time being so that rc noobs (aka girlfriend) wont disintegrate it by smashing it into non-moving objects or have to worry about any lipo fires for now. Besides, with only an AM radio to control it, brushless isn't the best option anyways. To my dismay, the TC4, which is my first onroad/touring car(ive been all offroad beforehand) only comes with drifting tires. Now it seems to me for regular street running, I would want either rubber tires or foam tires, with the latter giving much traction. Is that true? If so, how much of an improvement would I see? also, how do the life of the rubber and foam tires compare with the soft compound tires used for 10th scale trucks? And lastly, does anybody have any good tire/wheel suggestions for bashing/running on asphalt?

Rubber tires would be your best bet as they are more durable, foam tires will have better traction initally but will get chewed up on asphalt.

Mhm, Ben is right, Foam will sooner or later just wear from the asphalt and it being so gritty....

Radials is probably the best for now, a full set with rim and tires is about $30 if you piece some together on Tower...

Heres your cheapest bet for TC wheels and tires. After she gets a handle on how the Car drives and educate her throttle finger you can step up to better qaulity stuff .
