help: best pinion and spur for mbx5t - 10.22.2009, 09:43 AM

hi guys... my mbx5t is finally alive.. i'm lovin it!! i'm running the mmm 2200 combo
with 4s 5000mah 30c. i using the stock 48t spur with 14t pinion. the truck is running cool and the torque and top end is just about right but i still feel it can take way more. i usually run it in med-large race tracks. in the future.. i'm planning to use a 46t spur with the 14t but right now i only have a spare 15t pinion. what is the best combo?! i'm lookin for more torque. please help! thanks!!

Well, on my mbx-5T I run 5s w/the cc/mmm 2200 combo and I am running a 17T pinon to keep the nose on the ground. I f you went down even lower than 14....Your set up sounds really good to me as is espically if everything is running nice and cool. ( DON'T MESS W/WHAT IS WORKING WELL ) Readjust your punch control on the esc until desired results for more torque would be my answer....cheaper solution too!

1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

magman... next time around.. i'll be runnin it with my buddy's mbx5t.. cant wait to run this beast again!! anyway.. compared to my brushless mbx5r.. the 5t just eats everything you throw at it. was thinkin of tryin the 15t pinion but i will mess around with the punch control first. let you know how it turns out. i will post some pics when completely done. thanks man!!
