i just picked up a eagle tree 150A with a few temp sensors and the brushless rpm sensor everything reads fine except the rpm its show 5750rpm when not moving. i set the brushless rpm setting on the pc to 4 pole. i tried other pole options but still nothing close to 0. i did try without the data logger, esc and batt lead disconnected and i got it to read zero. im stumped and now sad can anyone help me please?

can some one post some insight, im going to my lhs today its a fair drive, so if i need something to make it work i can get it. if not im screwed for a month or 2 please help

From what I've seen, many people have issues with the rpm sensors- no real solutions, just have to keep tweaking it (sensor distance etc) until it starts working, or just dont use it. The purpose of the eagletree is primarily to check how much current your setup pulls, and to see how good your batts are- rpm readings seems like a novalty to me personally...

I have had issues with both the hall effect and brushless rpm sensors. the brushless sensor would not start reading and when it did it was way more rpm than the system could turn. I haven't been that happy with it. The hall effect might work but I haven't put that much time into it to set it up. I know there is a tab for calibrating the BL sensor so try that one.

Eagletree brushless sensor get the problem since a special CC Firmware. You use a MMM or so?
I have the same problem with a 100Amper Eagletree. MMMv1 and v2 and Quark Monster - no problems - no running car no rpm - since the "smooth firmware update" i get no running car 15k rpm.

Nobody know the problem, or so - it is a old problem.

I really don't think any firmware change is going to affect the BL rpm sensor. I use a mm and it has almost always done this I have gotten it to work a few times but most of the time it's at the limit of max RPM set in the software for the eagle tree or it's at zero rpm and just jumps around. I have tried everything except actually shielding the cabling to the sensor. I even soldered a twisted pair from 2 of the phases and put a connector on it so I could plug and unplug it and get it away from the motor. It still does the same thing.

I installed the magnets in the differential of my Rustler and installed the Hall Effect sensor in the Transmission case and it does not seem to work correctly either, but that may be a setting. It just goes to 750 rpm and stays there.
