Storage volts - 11.19.2009, 07:39 PM

For winter when i might not be using my batteries that much whats the best way store them i/e voltage level and how long can you keep before damage happens. Lipos that is.

Your charger may have a storage function for lipos, so use that. If not, then around 3.6-3.8v per cell is fine. As for how long, they can & will happily sit undisturbed for months- just check them every week or so with a little plug in voltage checker to make sure there arent any weak cells self discharging much quicker than the others.

I thought I read something about refrigerating them. Is that advised?

Yeah, I read that too...

On balance, I think its probably not required- plus think of what the wife will do to you if she finds your lipos in the fridge next to the fruit & veg...
