5000mah vs 6500 mah. worth the extra$$ - 11.25.2009, 12:07 AM

Is the difference in price worth the extra pwr/run time between a 4s 5000mah vs a 4s 6500mah 35/65c hyperion lipo. Need to pick up a battery tomorrow with a new 720I charger. Or should I just order a few turnigy lipos and call it good. thanks guys.

Well, lets just look at mah per dollar and mah per gram.

The 5K pack is 128.95 and comes to about 39mah per dollar.

The 6.5K pack is 190.25 and comes to about 34mah per dollar.

The 5K pack is 498g so that's abou 10mah per gram.

The 6.5K pack is 685g so that's about 9.5mah per gram.

So, I would say not worth it. You are paying more for less (both in capacity and weight).

It is. But I did mah per gram, so in this case, MORE mah per gram is equivalent to less weight per mah.

In this case, the 6500 has less mah for each gram, so each mah is heavier.

4s 5000 35c g3 pack will be plenty for your buggy the 6500 is just extra weight.

and you might wanna check right here at rc-monster for that battery and charger i think youll come out better after shipping and mike ships stuff out faster than anyone. just a thought since you are on his forums.

5000mah will have a very respectable run time, anything larger will start to have a greater effect handleing.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.
