Getting the itch to buy something

Ok, racing is over with till spring My RC8T hasn't gotten much use since racing ended, the RC8T is a great racer but I just don't have much fun bashing with it. My crt.5 sits a lot too as it's bred more for a track as well and lacks the clearance and true 4x4 of a MT. Basically I'm looking to get another MT, not a REVO though. I want a true MT, one that looks and handles like one. I love the way the E-maxx looks and the price isn't bad for a new one, $325 from Tower w/ super saver code +free shipping and I can even split it up into 3 payments, comes with 2 7cell nimh packs as well. I have had an E-maxx before and know the ins and outs. Also looked at some new and used E-savages but for a NIB it will cost me the same as a E-Maxx and have no batteries. The Slash 4x4 would be great if it came with a Stampede body and tires. I'm not looking for a speed demon, 30MPH is all I need to be happy for this truck. I would most likely upgrade to brushless in the future but as I said I'm not looking for much speed, just a go anywhere truck and with winter right around the corner a waterproof E-maxx may be fun to have again. I have thought about a mini e-revo but they don't look like a real MT and are to small to really go anywhere. If anyone has any suggestions, anything they want to offer me for a good price or a trade for a CRT.5 would be good. Or someone to push me to get a new E-Maxx. I'm not the biggest traxxas fan but parts support is great and I can easily strap a MMM combo on it gear it for 35MPH or less and know I would have a pretty reliable truck with a couple RPM upgrades.

same here bro, have a revo setup for racing (center diff etc) so that isnt fun for bashing, i have a nitro buggy, but A) it's nitro and B) it's a buggy and not so good for bashing.

hence why i got a micro-T, it's indestructible and is great for parking lot fun with the lipo upgrade

i faced the same dilemma when i sold my rc8t....i loved the truggy...freaking awesome..but i loved my sc8 too much....but it too is also geared for the track....i'm gonna have to go with the slash 4x4 bc 1.)its completely water proof 2.)its brushless 3.)its 4wd 4.) has pretty decent clearance 5.)you can put stampede-sized MT tires on it to get more clearance 6.)you can find traxxas parts support...ANYWHERE.. :) 7.)i can finally try out my local 1/10th scale indoor track 8.)it looks pretty easy to wrench on 9.)im not a fan of the slash body but i can easily put an sc10 body on it 10.)it can go more places than a 1/18th or 1/12th scale RC

The 4x4 Slash does look decent and wouldn't be hard to convert to a 4x4 Stampede but the downside is Tower has it listed for more than an E-Maxx. After seeing that I really started leaning more towards the maxx. Also I haven't and will not be selling my RC8T anytime soon, I am looking forward to racing with it again next spring

I feel the same way as you. My 6T will now sit dormant over the winter until racing season starts up again in the spring. I was thinking of getting a Crawler or a Summit for some winter action. Still undecided. A Losi Comp Crawler would be amazing, however the Summit seems like an awesome winter rig too.

How about another truggy but with larger tires ? The easy to work on clean lay out and indestructability of truggy can match if not exceed pretty much any MT ?
I have a Lightning Stadium Pro2 thats a awesome basher and as much as I love my LST2's my LSP is a far superior basher.. It's lighter,handles better and easier to work on. My2cents

I played with a buddies ax10, it was cool for about 5 minutes, I don't need a speed demon but I have no urge to go so slow either.

Chris- what did you wind up using to lock the center diff on the crt.5 you put tracks on last winter? I'm considering putting some silly putty in mine and throwing Stampede tires on it, if I don't like it then I could get a 4x4 slash and throw the tires on that

Really look into a used Summit. Top speed is about 26mph but the added crawling ability and ground clearance with locking diffs and 2 speed tranny is really nice! They are quite fun to bash around, pull your kids in a wagon with, crawl over stuff, go swimming with.... I do suggest some Beadlock wheels with Losi claw MT tires for a great setup.

I too bought a summit for one of those in between, grab it off they shelf and go play moments. It is speedy enough I have actually left it brushed, using 4s, could stand a bit more grunt. I take mine down by the river every now and then crawl along the riprap. Its really fun when the river comes up enough to cover the parking lot with a few inches of water, thin layer of mud. BTW, I have my crt.5's center locked with silly putty, works great.

I used a cen diff locker - the cup is shorter on crt so took some modification... Nothing to clean out though...

Choices,choices! What rims to use with some Masher 2000? Proline doesn't specify which rims are pin drive and which are hex drive and Tower doesn't either. Looking for some 2.2 truck rims with a hex drive
