Neu 1515 Failure - 02.27.2010, 11:53 AM

I have had this motor in my Slash 4x4 running 4s.Drove it maybe 2 minutes and the motor seized up.Took it apart and found this. The magnet shattered. Now I have had this motor for allmost 2 years but it only has 10 hours of runtime.I emailed Neu this photo also.I think a new stator could be reinstalled? The motor was never overheated due to the fact they are so expensive I am real careful not to abuse it.Neu does have a 1 yr waranty but its expired.

The stator is the thing inside the motor that the windings are wrapped around/ through; its your rotor thats knackered. I think they'd want to inspect the motor though too, just incase the exploded magnet fragments did any damage to the insides..

Got my motor fixed for the cost of the return shipping.Got it today in the mail new rotor and bearings. The rotor had no flatspot but no worries.I set up a jig with my dremel and milled one.I hate doing these flatspots though.GTW Neu headquarters is in Rancho Benardo Ca.I grew up 5 miles from there, small world.Freakin great customer servtce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
