02.24.2009, 01:13 AM
Let's have a thread where we post information about our Medusa setups.
It can be anything with a Medusa Motor.
Please post size and kv of motor, ESC, gearing, battery configuration and any other important information.
I'll go first.

Hyper 8 buggy
36 60mm 1600kv v2
14/46 gearing
crimefighters
quark 125b (may swap to MMM)
6s 2170 fp 25c lipos
Runs a bit warm, close to 160f on the motor. I may go up to a 15t and see if that helps. The quark stays cool, but one of them poofed so I may swap to the MMM. And it will look cleaner without the ccbec and related wiring.

Losi Muggy
36-60-1300
12/46
LT10s120a
8s 3300mah 25C, pq
RTR weight: 5.6kgs / 12.3lbs
Motor gets to 180f / 80c pretty quick. I only ran this setup once. Esc and batteries got warm too. Put this motor in because I was tired of waiting for the 80mm's. Right now my 36-80-1100 should be somewhere over the Atlantic....

Would it be possible to you, to add some ESC setups also, like advance etc... ??
Im just testing, what setup would be good, advance 10 or 12 and start power med or high, using MMM.
My setup is:
Hyper ST Pro
MMM
Medusa V2 2200kv 80mm with RCM XL-heatsink
2x 4800mah 25C 4S Zippy-R in parrel

Losi 8ight B
Tekno Conversion
weight-8lbs RTR
MMM
Medusa 60-2200
13/48 or 14/48 depending on track
4s- Hyperion 5350 16c, Neu 5000 25c, Fully Maxx 4400 35c
Temps- Haven't seen over 160, mostly 140
Runtime- 15min mains at ARC Raceway (no warm-ups)
MMM settings- everything low or lowest, linear graph, 30% punch, no expo, no brakes
Also ran the 50-2200 for a while and it worked just fine, the 60 just has more power and snap.

My setup:
Hyper 8.5
MedUsa 36-70-1600 V2
Rhino 5s 4900mah 20c
Gearing 15/46, I can gear higher if i want more speed, but I donīt
MMM settings, High start power, 100% punch control, lowest timing.
Everything runs cool, i have yet to reach 77F
Runtime depends but i get an easy 20 min run on it, maybe even 25-30 min.
Hyper 8.5 Pro w/ MMM, 5s rhino, MedUsa 36-70-1600
Thunder Tiger zt w/ Sidewinder 8000kv kombo and 1300Mah 3s

RB3 (linked if you need it)
36-50-3300 v2-5
18/66 on e-savage gearbox
lpr crimefighters
MM esc 10 or can use 15 deg timing, 0 punch, 30 brakes, 30 reverse
3s 5400 trakpower
3950grams
Really good value and performance from these motors. I got recommended to use 15deg timing, but I'm still running 10, and everything is not hot enough to warrant even getting the gun out.

CRT.5
47/15 mod1
36-50-4800V2-5
4S1P A123
3" foam tires
RC-Monster Heatsink clamp
LT 1/10 ESC
Runs great in the CRT.5. Motor Temps maxed at 130F. Keeps up with touring cars with ease in a short-medium track. -->Click for YouTube link
With a 20T pinion the motor looses it's marbles and just sits there looking sorry at you.
Same motor, batteries and ESC in Rustler with 58/25 mod.8 gearing, sucked donkey's.
6 KiloWatt A123 Racer
GTP-Pletty Big Maxximum+RX8. GTP-C50-6L Hacker+RX8. CRT.5-Pro4+ZTW esc.
24s2p EVG SX 49.6mph Ebike.
18s4p Raptor 60mph Ebike. 11.5KW
