Arrow Losi 22??? - 10.02.2011, 11:11 PM

Now that I'm pretty much done building my Emaxx, I'm thinking about buying a Losi 22. I might start racing (I'm not sure when I would have the time), but I have always wanted a RC buggy and I love the look. I have read lots of reviews about it and they all seem favorable. Any thoughts.........?

If your thinking about racing then you should see what the rules are. Might as well stick a MMpro on there, then you know you can handle all kinds of power for bashing and have the sensored ability for racing since most classes spec a sensored motor, I'm guessing it'll be 17.5 or 13.5 maybe lower if it's outdoors.

Ok, MMpro on the way, as well as a Castle 4600kv motor, a Hitec 7965MG servo, and a Futaba R614FF 4-Channel 2.4GHz FASST Receiver for my 4 PKS. Any thoughts on tires? I want to be able to bash this on a BMX track (hard packed dirt), run it on the street ,and sometimes race it.

Your going to need 3 different tires as those are vastly different surfaces! Dirt hawg 2 tires would be good for the street, I know the name is weird for a street tire but check them out. For racing I would see what the other guys are using. HArd pack, take your pick, there's tons of choices.

I think they take a hex but not sure, just look up 1/10 buggy tires on prolineracing.com

it is a hex drive, looks to have a hex both front and rear. Jconcepts has a good selection as well

Do you guys know how many "turns" the 4600kv Castle motor? I'm not sure I understand some motors are rated in "kv" and some are rated in "turns". I'm trying to pick pinion gears for this thing. The manual gives suggestions but all the motors are rated in "turns".
Thanks,
Mike.

The lower the turns the higher the KV so i would say your CC4600KV is about 8.5 turns:)
