Couple Questions- C Rating, New LiPo Packs, etc. - 09.05.2010, 11:08 PM

Well first, destroyed my first pair of LiPos today, was quite amusing!

Anyways, now for my questions.

I'm running an ESavage w/ a Medusa 50-3300kV off of a Mamba Max ESC with 2S packs in series.

Also running an EMaxx w/ KD970 (Conversion Kit, KershawDesigns.net, not sold anymore, and actually is for sale ) on a EVX-1 with 2S packs.

--

Will I be able to push these trucks with 20C packs?
Cheapest is best!

I know the higher, the better, the safer, but just wondering, is 20C pushing it?
20C 5000mAh 2S packs are like $15 bucks!

The 5000mah 20c packs should push these fine. I use these in my Revo and Emaxx with ease.

However, higher C ratings are always better.

Redshifts lipos still available.

And thanks nitrostarter, what's your current setup in the emaxx/erevo?

Surely not stock..
Wait, is it in your sig?

Tekin and MMP/MMM?

Are you using a total of 4S in series or 6?

Thanks nitro!

So I should be good with 20C all around?
I thought 30C was a must with Medusas...

You have to look at your overall setup and then assess the amount of amperage you'll be pulling.

The ESavage is light and the Medusa on 4s will be pretty powerful and shouldn't have a problem moving out.
The brushed Emaxx setup is decently powerful but still a relatively low amp draw setup.

So I would assume that's a definite yes... that 20C will do?
I know I'm asking the same thing fifty times, just making sure I don't have to go rambo again on my new lipos..

You could do these with 30c, nothing wrong with having breathing room

Those were one of them I was looking at...
Except I wouldn't know if the lipos have puffed or haven't..

I'm having that issue with my TrueRC's right now. Covers lifting apart a bit, kinda squishy on top, but I don't know if it's just the packing tape and label, or the case, or the cell...

These are the ones I'm looking at for now:

and those Turnigy hardcases..

I know the 20C's are up to the task. But keep in mind possible future expansion of your fleet or possible system upgrades that may require a higher C rated pack. This is why I suggest getting the highest C rating packs you can afford. You may pick up a more powerful system that requires a 30C minimum, in which you'd be oligated to buy new higher rated lipos.
