Reccomendation please! - 09.22.2010, 02:04 PM

I have been getting back into racing more and more lately and have come to a conclusion I want something extremely competitive. So far I have been racing the Slash 4x4 and I have been doing great. Still get my butt handed to me from time to time but my laps are consistent and I make it a point to never get marshaled. I want to run another class now. I was thinking of staying in the 1/10th scale, do to one of the local tracks being a tight indoor one, which I really am enjoying.

So I was pondering a 4x4 buggy, and selling off one or two of my RC's to be able to dial this guy in like the 4x4.

I had my eye on two the Caster Sniper, and the Durango. I really like the idea of the gear diffs in the Durango. As well as a lot of the other features. I am leaning that way.

I have raced 2x4 and 4x4 corr, and now my Slash is more for bashing and is to stay that way.

The Raze is another basher and is super fun in the sand with 4x4 paddles.

The Ten-T has no class to race in and is dialed for racing now. So no more bashing this one.

So my inquiry for recommendation is on which two to sell, and which one to buy.

I love the Raze, but technically I only need one basher and I could use the Slash for sand. The Ten-T would be a deadly dominate force if converted to a SCT, but than I wouldn't really need the 4x4 Slash.

Oh the dilema!

Or keep all, and just get another, and kick myself later when I see the green go bye bye.

Last option!
Hopefully it will go ''the natural way'' and you will automatically leave one of the cars standing, that's the one you could sell.

True, I have a feeling I know which one is going to go. The Ten-T. I really would of loved to have a racing class for it though. It is really nimble. Hence the reason for the 1/10th Buggy idea. I figure they would be highly similar.

So the 10-T's purpose in life is what?!?!?!?! Why would you have it dialed in for racing if there is no class for it? Did they drop the class you were in? Just curious, but I think you answered your question on which one is going bye bye.

They were letting me race with other classes. Not so much anymore. I really wish there was a spot for it in life. I have a feeling it will be the one to go.

raced 4 wheel buggy for about 4 years straight a while back. truly an amazing class. the only downside i saw from my experience was durability. ran mod so that had alot to do with it but generaly they are pretty unforgiving in crashes due to the amount of speed they carry around the track. newer cars are probably more durable, and many of the people i race with run the b44. sounds as if you are a good driver anyhow, this will contribute greatly to your enjoyment. i would say find a car that meets your needs/budget and go for it. at the very least you will have a ton of fun.

Well I have thought it through pretty much as much as I really want to. I think the Raze and the Ten-T are going to go. Figuring they have the most expensive electronics I should be able to get some good money selling them. Besides 1/8th Buggy is not going anywhere I can always pick up another one down the road. I will be keeping the 1/8 buggy slingshots though. UNless Proline continues to reproduce them.

I believe I am going to get the Durango. I had a chance to drive a b44 last night and I enjoyed it. So I know I am on the right track. Once all done and through I should have a build thread on the kit.
