rc8t rc monster chassis - 10.12.2010, 08:02 PM

so i bent the crap out of the first chassis i purchased here, my fault 5s 2200mmm combo drunk as hell with a 4ft high jump... good times.

bought a second and upgraded to the thicker front and rear chassis brace the blue pure alum ones http://cgi.ebay.com/Associated-Rear-...item255d76ce12 this is just the rear got the front as well.

not sure that important, but can someone tell me if there is any angle on the rear chassis where it gets thinner from main body of the chassis. if i hold a straight edge up to the bottom of it i can see a sliver of light near the rear of the chassis, am i doomed again?
thanks all

Those braces suck. I bent one first time out. The rear on a hard landing just bent like butter. The CNC'd holes dont improve the strength at all.

that not what i wanted to hear, so there is no good option to make a decent basher out of a rc8t as i bent the original aluminum ones quickly too... thought 1/8th scale was stronger than others damn damn damn cause this things drives on rails.

Put in the plastic ones? I used the plastic brace on my RC8Te and it sure took a beating.

alum chassis would just break quicker w/ plastic braces, i assume you have the plastic chassis .... which might not be a bad idea if it has alot more flex and give... hmmm

I did bash mine a bit but the chassis was just fine with the plastic brace : 1 2 3 4

Plastic chassis for the RC8T? I don't believe that exists. The plastic brace allows a more flex than alu and will just flex and not break/bend. I didn't have a problem with it at all.

May have to try that... bent several sets of the aluminum ones.

And yes, no such thing as a plastic chassis for the RC8T.

The chassis is only in alum. You may want to try these out

and I only bash my rig, no racing involved. In fact I have never been to a ROAR track. The only parts I have had any trouble with is the rear brace and the rear hub carrier in 1yrs time. Great rig and MUCH more durable than any other rig I have owned.

I thought they would be a bit stronger. I have the machines ones and I just bent it back in a vise. Doesnt seem to have bent again. But I could never get it perfect again, it still has a slight bend to it
