You need to sign up to see the pictures- copy & paste & imageshack/ photobucket time me thinks.

Its do-able though, yeah, just not terribly advised...

No dude,

cant run 2 brushless motors from one esc, as it messes up the phasing of the pulse...

Technically it as actually possible to do if both motors can be synchronized to a gearbox - there was a post maybe 3 years ago where it was done.

Practically speaking though it would be a PITA and probably smoke your ESC.

wouldn't that double the amp draw? geez, i dunno.... most escs have a hard enough time handling the rigors of hard bashing. i couldn't imagine doubling the load. those peaks would me monsterous.

My guess is it wouldn't be double as each motor is having an easier time (there is another motor helping it).

yeah but it's not necessarily "less work" that is most difficult on the esc. it's braking and startup.

Still a power to weight ratio thing. I can understand startup being high but braking would need to be light so it doesn't flip the car.

so you think if i have an e-maxx (just for the sake of argument) with one 1518 on an MMM, that will be more taxing on the esc than (2) 1518's?

the one 1518 already has wayyy more power than it needs to power an e-maxx. wouldn't you think that the power to weight might be more plausable if the vehicle was maybe an HPI 5B?

You misunderstand me. I agree the power required would be more than a single motor just not double.

I personally would only run dual motors with dual ESCs. Just easier IMO to use a larger single motor.
