First round knock out. WOW what a fight. Valasquez just beat Lesner's A$$ like a little school girl. Mexico's first heavy weight champion of the world in the MMA. It was great to see Brock get his A$$ handed to him.

Hey Jerry,
I am in total shock over the beating he put on Lesner! Probably not as shocked as Lesner though! When he charged out, I thought is was going to be a quick win for Lesner, but Cain took the first barrage and then took it to Lesner.

My favorite fight though was Tito, getting has fanny handed to him by Matt Hamill. Seems like Tito should have been less concerned with Matt's disability and more concerned about his fists......ha ha ha, could not have happened to a nicer person! Tito even said in the lead up that he knew everything about Hamil....ha ha ha and still got his butt kicked....so sweat. Was worth every dollar to see that for me. I understand posturing and trash talk, but the personal level Tito takes it to is obnoxious.

Yea I agree with you there. I think both Tito Ortiz and Brock Lesner are huge poop talkers and needed to get their A$$'s beat. Maybe there will be a little bit more humility shown from now on. It kind of reminded me of that show where they call out the bullies and put them in the ring with some professional who shows them what bullting is really all about. Very cool matches all the way around.

Happy to see Tito get a solid beat down
Shocked Lesnar lost, and lost badly.

Shocked? - 10.24.2010, 08:19 PM

Shocked? Not really. When you think of what he was doing prior to this wrestling although very physical is pretty much choriagraphed and practiced like a dance. This is a whole other ball of wax for Lesner. He is not really used to getting popped in the head the way he was last night. He really needed this in a way that may wake him up and help him gain a little bit of humility. He is a huge human being, but from what I saw he does not take well to getting punched in the face. He really had his brain rocked and you could see the surprize in his face during that fight.

Not saying he didn't need to be brought down a peg but yeah I'm surprised he lost. I figured he would of mugged Cain on the ground and hammerfist him or choke him out. His size and conditioning (minus boxing skills)is such a advantage I had never thought for seconfd he'd lose. Shiz happens. I've only read about the match, haden't seen it yet.

Classic - 10.24.2010, 08:58 PM

Oh it was classic. This is one of those fights that will be talked about for a while. Not quite your "David & Goliath" story, but truly a good lesson that this is not the WWF. UFC is for real and you better come prepared if you want to reach the top of the pile and actually stay there, and not just talk a whole bunch of crap about how bad you are. Brock really is a machine of a man, but he can be put to sleep just like the rest of Em. The brain can only take so much hammering before you lose conciencness. His challenger was obviously much more prepared and you could see that "Tigers Eye" look in his face. He was hungry and he came to dinner with an apitite for success. Lesner looked totally stunned when this guy started punching him in the face with ease. He knocked him down like three times with relatively average looking punches, which buckled his knees. Lesner obviously needs to take a few more hits in training to get his head used to taking a few punches, or maybe he needs to learn to bock his head better. It was almost funny seeing that look on his face when he realized that this guy was going to smack him around like a little beotch. I am glad that this happen. Maybe now he will tone down the smack talking crap a bit and concentrate more on his level of show.

To be a little fair to Brock, though he doesn't deserve it, he was a tremendous collegiate wrestler, 2 time national Div 1 champ and 2 time All American. Dana White said it was the only reason he got the shot like he did. Based on how he came out on Velasquez so quick I think he thought it would be another opponent he could quickly "bully" in to submission. But Velasquez was the same caliber wrestler (2 time All American) as Brock, who has been training MMA for a long time, not just "hey I am tired of WWE and I didn't make the Minnesota Vikings so I think I will go fight MMA" <----my interpretation of Brock

And Jerry with the ego on him, I have to wonder how much more we will see from him, really at 5-2, how much more attention does he deserve? And you are right, the look on him after his initial barrage with no success and Cain started chasing him and popping him.....worth every penny to see that fight! And really don't know how surprised we should be as Fedor (though he recently lost) was a heavy weight like that, not to physically opposing, but could really hit freak hard and just get in there on larger opponents. (If you haven't seen theses Google them....Fedor vs Silva and Fedor vs Orlavski <--watch the most recent. Good stuff.

I don't care one way or the other about Brock. But you have to respect what the man accomplished. He got thrown in with the best, no gimme fights from the start & won the title. He fought Mir twice ( former champ), then he fought Randy who was the champ. he also fought Herring who was tough. He had half as many fights as Cain did before he got a Title shot & made the most of it.

Bently Fedor versus Nogueria or Fedor versus Crocop were better fights.

You are correct except for one thing. Lesner was the one asking for these fights and talking all kinds of crap about how these guys did not really know how to fight. Brock was alianating himself right from the git go with his competitors and commrads alike. He was arrogant and self serving, and got what he deserved. He was even warned by Dana White about how this is not the WWF and we don't get personal to that level. He had to be told to tone it down or he would be banned. He is an A$$ and I was happy to see him get hammered. Humility is a good thing sometimes.

Considering whats involved, is there any surprise these guys act like they do? I am not bashing the fighting or the sport, just considering the relevant facts of what it all entails. It's no different than the way boxers act/acted especially Mohamed Ali. Mike Tyson tried but sounds so dumb when he talks he just had to prove it in the ring.

It's all part of the game they play. I think it kind of comes with the territory to pump yourself up to be in this kind of fight. No calm and reasonable person would do it otherwise. No different than the way the rest of us guys trash talk in the locker room and while playing whatever.

I think alot of the guys are encouraged to show their ass to boost ratings and interest.

Broke Lesnar was quoted as saying " He would enjoy a cold Corona and a burrito after he beat Cain ".

Guess he's gonna have to wait on that meal.
