e-maxx wheels going backwards after rebuild?

e-maxx wheels going backwards after rebuild? - 03.02.2011, 08:21 AM

I bought FLM hybrid bulks and hot bodies diffs for them i put it all back together and the rear wheels pull fwd and the front wheels pull backwords!

In reverse it does the opposite. Did i put one of the diffs together backwords?

YES you put one of the sets of gears in facing the wrong side. Open one diff up and swap teh ring gear to the opposite side and you should be good to go.

Don't feel too bad...many of us have done the same thing. I have done it twice!


1. MBX-6 T8 1900KV, RX8 ON 4S
2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

Yeah I felt really dumb after I got it all back together and seen that.

Btw how much gorilla snot should I put on the gears? I just pretty much covered the teeth. It sounds alot more noisy since I upgraded the diffs and cvd.

I completely cover mine in gorilla snot. Some diffs are definitively noisier than others for sure. My mugen diffs are a lot noisier than some of my other rigs

Fill what completely full? If you mean the diffs with oil, no not completely. Check the appropriate documents for sure from the HB or HPI site (these are same as vorza diffs), but I believe they all call to fill to top of the internal gears.
