I have recently starting racing again, and to keep everything with the same setup I pulled the mamba maxxes out of a few play cars to put them in the racers. I have a slash 4x4, a xxx-sct, and a xxx-t based bomber. What I am running in to is if I spin out, and the car is rolling backwards, it has to come to a pretty much complete stop before it will pick up and take back off forwards. I never noticed this in playing around the yard, but one of the tracks I have been running is a banked dirt oval, and if I spin out at the top of the track, and it is rolling back down towards the inside, it just seems to take a while to get going. I have updated to the latest firmware available, lowered the throttle deadband, messed with the start power, and on the graph moved the first point up to 10 and went linear from there. None of that has really made any difference. I understand it may just be the nature of the beast, but was curious if anyone has and ideas to try to get me out of trouble and back in the race a little quicker.

When that happens to me(it pisses me off) I squeeze the trigger to about a 1/4 to 1/2 the way then let up to neutral then squeeze again quickly repeating. Hoping the esc finds a happy place and gets going. Maybe try No reverse or reverse/forward settings?

I'll give the double trigger a try, I tried foward only mode, but it didn't make any difference. Like I said I had never even noticed this until I started back racing. It just seems like an eternity when you in the heat of the moment. I guess the best answer would be to not spin out in the first place, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

This behavior is the nature of sensorless brushless. If the motor stops, the ESC must re-locate the position of the rotor, hence the delay. You may try adding some forward trim once armed(so at neutral on your trigger, the car moves slightly forward) - this should in theory prevent the motor from coming to a stop, and therefore also eliminate the associated delay. :)
