Looking for a... - 05.27.2012, 02:05 PM

Hey guys, looking for a key switch that has 2 positions, and will only be able to remove the key in the off position. Should be flat keyed. Prefer it to have 90 degree turns, too.

Long story short, want to use this key switch to activate my computer power button, without the key the computer cannot be turned on.

I see to be able to find 2 positions spsts, but with the key able to be roved in both positions.
Must be panel mountable.

Thanks for any help..

What would be so bad about you being able to take it out while the computer is on? It would prevent accidental turn offs.

The power button is activated when jumped, current doesn't flow through it..

Obviously taking the key out of both positions would be a possibility but the one way off position is just preferred.

If you can't find a pre-built setup, you may have to cobble something together. Like a regular key lock with cam, which presses against a momentary limit/roller switch.
