No. For one thing, the Phoenix-80 is for planes and if im not mistaken, you won't have proportional brakes. Just full brakes...

Right. Besides that, though, airplane controllers aren't able to do low throttle inputs in cars like car controllers can. Airplane controllers have a "soft start" setting that makes the propeller start out slower. Another reason why not to use an airplane controller is because they can't handle an RC car - they're made for continuous running, not the high amp spikes that RC cars work with.

I think a guy tried one of these. When the controller was in the neutrel position it was half throttle. To go to neutrel the controller had to be in reverse position. I don't think the 80 amps would be enough esc for a 10l for hard running.

You would be better of with a normal car controller for sure.

Yes it will work, not as well as a car controller though. Just keep an eye on your temps...
I am using a pheonix HV110 with my 12xl on 8s.
I was able to program the controller so that the nutral position is correct with my JRXS3. Although, I haven't been able to repro this with my Nomadio Sensor yet.
Other than flipping my truck on its lid and chewing up my spur gear on the first run, it works great! :005:
After a 10 minute run, the controller gets a little warm ~110 but the 12xl gets even warmer ~130.

Sounds good starscream! i heard from castle, that it wouldn't work with the pistol gun transmittors...

What about the brakes? or do you use mechanical brakes?

Yea, brakes are one of the main concerns. With mechanical brakes there shouldn't be a problem though.

I only use mechanical brakes in my trucks so its not a problem.

Castle also told me it wouldn't work but I took the chance and got one anyway.

I was able to get the esc to work fine with the JRXS3 but I am having trouble getting the same results with the Nomadio Sensor. I bought this esc strickly to test out a high voltage system.
I will say that 8s is a bit more weight but wow, its crazy power.
I flipped my lid literally. I am still in the testing phase with the 12xl. I typically run 5s or 6s with a 1950/7. The 1950 was not kind to my Revo f/r diff's. It ate both in one day. I had to go with Aluminum cases all around.

What kind of run times you getting on a 12xl starscream? I believe you on the 8s power. The 1950 is a powerful motor as well.
