9918 Installation Question - 03.27.2005, 12:15 PM

I've got everything installed on my truck now and I'm getting ready to install the controller, motor, and ubec. Where on the controller is the jumper located that needs to be removed in order to run the ubec externally? I cut the shrink wrap off near the red positive battery lead but I don't see anything.

It is near the red programming jumper, under the heat shrink. It is a black "tab" that you simply pull out. It is just below the caps.

Is the small black tab connected to the actual circuit board?

Nevermind, I'm assuming it's the black tab that I just slid off of the two prongs.

Sorry for all the questions Mike, but does the UBEC plug end go over the prongs that I just removed the tab from?

The plug on the UBEC plug goes into the receiver. The wires get soldered directly to the battery connections.

Do I need to remove any wires from the plug going to the receiver since I'm using the UBEC, or do I just plug it in like it is since I removed the black tab already.

Plug and play. No need to remove any of the wires. Removing the BEC jumper is all you need to do.
