I would say lipo is your best shot at it.
Peace!

8000 would definately be enough for an hour! What type of batt you get would depend on the bl you get

8000mah is actually only enough for about 30mins in a 2s configuration with a motor with a kv of ~4500. If you go with a motor like a Feigao 380C 13t and 4s 8000mah, then an hour would be an easier goal. I'd just worry about the motor heat during that time.

Finally I say YES you can.
I run a SuperGMaxx with a lehner 1950/8 and 2 flightpower EVO20 5S 3700
packs in parallel for a total of 7400 mAh.
I ran for 35 minutes for a total of about 3600 mAh. This means I can
achieve the hour.
Ciao,
Daniele

I'm not sure, to be honest. My Mtroniks Genesis Truck ESC doesn't have a low-voltage cutoff, so I've been careful about the low voltage. It also doesn't seem to like using external LVCs or even UBECs, so I don't want to try it. I'm going to rig up my Mamba Max ESC, but I need some 4mm connectors for the 12s. I run 4s 6600mah 8C. This pack was on sale for only $100 (it's normally ~$160).

I get about 25 minutes of runtime on my 12s with 12 IB3800 cells, so an hour with a 4s 8000mah lipo is possible.

Well, "runtime" varies a lot depending on what you are actually doing. Do you mean 60 minutes on the track or playing in the street?
There's no way some of the runtime/battery results mentioned here are possible if you are talking about racing. I assume you guys are bashing, right? It is a Stampede, huh? :)
For example, the 35 minutes and 3600mah equates to a mere 7 amps average current draw. Isn't that about right for a mini-t? :D
I would say you need a minimum of 10,000mah to make an hour, and probably more if you actually mean 60 min solid runtime and not messin around.

In 1/10 offroad racing some guys are getting 15+ minutes on the new 4000mah+ batteries in mod classes (brushed motors... multiple heats). That's pretty impressive, and pretty effecient for racing. But it's still pulling some amps, let's say 1500mah for 5 min track time. Back in the day we would be dumping with the 1200-1500s at the 4 min mark with 14T mods.
Anyway, 1500/5min= 18,000mah per hour.
There are more efficient setups and some guys have had better results... this is just an example of typical offroad racing, something to compare to.
Bashing is a different deal, and brushless can be more efficient, etc.... like the guys who run 20min mod truck races and use 8000 lipos. One of those guys said once he could run for at least 30 min...

I think I could get 40+ minutes of racing with my setup (10XL & 9920) with 8000mah 6S LiPo. I can get close to 30 with 4200's.

That's pretty sweet... the high voltage setup stay pretty cool too?
I think I need a new controller... I'm stuck with 4s with my speedos...

I have yet to run it on 6S but on 16 cells it runs pretty cool. I'll soon be able to afford the LiPo's so I'll report back A.S.A.P.
