The one in the car controller itself cannot handle the high juice of the batts that we put into it. So, the ubec replaces that componet to handle the juice.

Why would they make 20150 that can handle 20 cells if it can't handle it?

The controller can, but the bec can't. It states the rating on what you can run through the controller.

Well the BEC that comes with it according to the web site is 3amps.

What can the EBEC handle.

By the way, what the heck does it do anyway?

It controls the juice that goes to your rx i believe, don't quote me on that. The ubec can handle 40 input volts, and will allow 6v going to the rx straight from your batts, bypassing the internal bec(which cannot handle 40volts), the ubec has a higher rating to handle higher voltage from your batts. The internal bec just cannot handle the volts is all. But it's not that the controller cannot handle it, just the bec...

A BEC is a Battery Eliminating Circuit, meaning you don't need seperate batteries to feed the receiver and servo's on your vehicle.

it's a 5 or 6V DC coming from either a speedcontroller (either brushed or brushless), meant to feed the receiver.

You know what, I didn't get the lipos yet and I am using two 6 packs in series. Works great without the bec but when I get the lipos I need to put in the EBEC. Already have it from Mike.

Still have to learn how to set it up though.

Very simple to set it up. when going lipo, you'll also needa cut off, unless the controller has one built in. The ubec should have directions with it???
