How to fix a heatsink... - 10.21.2006, 04:09 PM

Hey guys,

How can I fix a BK heatsink to a Schulze controller?

My 9918 is no longer useful to me, so I thought I would use its heatsink in the 149.18 esc for extra protection.
The size of the heatsink is perfect to fit the controller, actually.
I simply need some tips to do it the right way.
I know that I have to tear the esc's shrink wrap, first and start from there.

Taking it off is pretty easy. The thing is actually glued to the micro chips directly, so I used my own painful ways to tear it out of its place.

You konw where can I finde some heat shrink wraping to recover the controller with it?

Maxamps has a bunch of different sizes in clear or black. Click "Chargers and Misc" from the menu at left. Then, the "Wire and Shrink Wrap" link at the top of the results...

I suppose you weren't able to remove the heatsink from the Warrior without totally destroying it? I would have sold the 9918 and then used that money to buy a heatsink and have money left over.

Dont they have some- see through- heat shrinks?
I did not really destroy it.
The thing still has a chance of working, though its no longer good, not even befor I took out the heatsink.
Who would buy it, any ways.

Yeah, they have "see through", although they call it "clear". ;)

I dunno, but I'm sure someone would buy it (or would have) if you were just trying to get rid of it and charged like $100. But since it wasn't even good before you took the heatsink off; no, I don't think anyone would buy that.
