The thing is pretty cool...1/32 scale. Its 4.5 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. The tires are 19mm in diameter. Its batteries are only 150 mah. I've seen a video on it (but lost the link) and it seems pretty quick. The bad part is that it runs on 4 cells, so you can properly put a Lipo into it (too little or too much voltage). I hope they make a brushless system for it hehe
It will really put a new meaning to "so fast you cant see it"
Can you imagine a tiny thing like that going 40mph? :005:
I saw it at the ihobby show last week. So small it would be useless for anything except the living room carpet.
Might be OK for a winter fix though.
Edit: I came back and read this later and it sounded like I was bashing it. I'm not, I was actually thinking that it would be a fun winter living room racer. Just not for outdors on anything other than the driveway.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...
I was actually thinking a mamba 25 controller and one of those little fiegao 12mm brushless motors on 2s 400mah lipo and the new spektrum micro reciever would fit.
Who will be the first to make one of these brushless???:005:

I would love to tackle that, but I can think of at least a couple reasons not to...
1. I don't believe the chassis/drivetrain will survive serious bl power...
2. I hear that spme of the mini-z motors are already insanely fast...
3. I don't think it will be driveable.... can't "use" the power anyway...
But I would like to be wrong here. :)
Edit:... #4.... too much $$ to throw at a teenie tiny toy.... ;)
The feigao motor is $30, you could probably make one of the little 9A CC airplane brushless controllers work for $25 or so.(no reverse though) A little lipo that size is only $15, and Im sure there is a more economical solution to the reciever than the spektrum. It was just the smallest one I could think of.
As far as the drivetrain. Who knows untill you actually get one and take it apart to check it out. I'm not sure how much ''serious BL power'' a 12mm brushless moter will have, but a truck that small will probably have some shortcomings in its ability to get more than stock power to the ground.
They need to come out with some little tiny foams for carpet now.:005:
Besides that there are always reasons why not... Its the reasons why that I try to focus on.:018:

well there is one big problem.
you have to use the transmitter/esc whats in the car for the "servo" if you look to the picture you see there are 5 wires to the front of the car. thats probably for the steering. and the "normal" receiver does not have a 5 pin connector.
maybe i am wrong but that would be a problem cuz you are not going to use that esc/receiver....
Does look pretty quick.... if I get one (two or three actually so my kids can race em... hee hee) I'd look into little lipos and probably call it good.
gd, thats what I was thinking too. I might have to get one just for the winter, and keep it basically stock. not a fan of the 5 wire servo but if it works and doesn't break then its all good.
