WOW What a great site !! - 04.17.2005, 09:17 AM

I have been looking for a site like this one for some time ! Mike seems to be a super person to talk with & Purchase from !

I been in RC for 6 years & gone from Nitro to Electric. With the new Brushless motors & Li-Po's Nitro is old news !

I have 3 Novak 5800 there great systems, but I would like to move up in power.

Most of my running is on pavement and would like to have a super fast Losi XXX-4 to start with or Hop-up My BK2 ?

Witch buggy would handle speeds of over 50mph better ?

Witch buggy / Truck is your favoriate ?

Thank You !

Terry

Personally, I like 4wd better than 2wd, so I would choose the xxx4. Actually, I would prefer a shaft drive buggy like the MRC or bj4. The Bk2 will be much easier to mod though, and may be a little faster on the top end (not a huge difference in speed either way).

Yeah, with brushless, go for a shaft drive, And i don't know what you can do with aluminum/delrin, but in my opinion the HPI mt2 SS SCREAMS for a BL conversion!! here is what i have got in mind...;

basic 4200 8-10 GP2200's and a warrior 9918.. (or better.... lipoly.....)

That would push it over the 45-50 mph..

Yes I really like the BJ4 ! I installed the new belt & Idler pulley for the XXX-4 Losi came out with, it is much stronger & more pliable than the stock one.
I pushed it hard with no belt jumping, but that was with the Novak system. Also the belt is fully inclosed that should be a +

I really don't think I can get a large control to fit in the XXX-4, so I'm wide open for a great Buggy / Truck to convert to a powerfull BL & 3 cell LiPo. I really want it to fly !!
One thing I do want is 4wd, Maybe a G-Maxx ?

I run my g-maxx on 5s lipo power. It will eat up most things on the track or otherwise. the xxx4 is hard to work with due to the space constraints.

G-Maxx Tranny ?? - 04.18.2005, 06:29 AM

Hi.
I'm intrested in the G-maxx but have concerns about the E-Maxx tranny ! Is there a after market trans that will hold up with a BL & LiPo's ?

Also has anyone seen the BJ4 in person ? on JC's web site he has pics. of the BJ4 & it apperas that the spur gear is exposed in the bottom of the chassis, if so that would turn me away !

Serum,
Do you have any pics. of your HPI MT2 That would be great if you could share them with us

Thanks !!

Terry

It was a sugestion, You asked what was our favorit, I just shared a thought, nothing more.... Though it might be an interesting project to start working on.. That's why i asked about your skills on working on aluminum..

Saves me money, if you did the pilot... ;)

I have seen the bj4 buggy. It is a sweet ride! I can't recall if the gear was exposed, but the gear on a 1/8 buggy is just as exposed and does not cause any problems, so I wouldn'y let that stop you from considering the Bj4 buggy.
the e-maxx tranny is pretty tough. Once you add some aftermarket idler gears, it can take quite a bit of punishment.
