bl truggy! - 01.29.2007, 07:31 PM

i want to start a new project and this sounds like something i want.. im not going to race just bash a lil and have fun with it, a track might open up somewhere but i dont think it will

i want a good truggy that is tougher, under 450$$$, needs to pull wheelies lol, and i want to be able to use other tires not just pins or what ever they are

im thinking for the setup. a neu motor(help me here) a quark speedy(help there to) i want to use some max amps 8k lipo packs, i think a 4 cell lipo (hows that sound?) to 2 cell packs wired in however it is for voltage and a custom motor mount by mike (still deciding there)

i want to get atleast 30 mins of runtime driving not to hard, just having fun, a few speed runs here and there and wheelies if it can and jumping off road..

thanks, and sorry for all the writing:018:

You best bet is to go look on ebay for a roller of some kind. There aren't any decent truggies I can think of below $450, let alone including the brushless system and lipos/charger unless you have one.

I can recomend a Jammin truggy... it's a proven, tough truck.

There are some interesting options like maybe a XTM Mammoth... it's only $350 RTR so you can part out a bunch of stuff and pay for at least half of it. It's not as much a true "truggy" as the ones from Jammin, Kyosho, TTR,etc... but it will work just the same. I think it's a little bigger than most truggies, good or bad.

You will need some super thick stuff in the center diff to get easy wheelies.

For a Neu, I like the 1515 2.5D I have in my truggy. It's fast enough on 4s, but in the future I have the option of bumping the voltage up a bit, and dropping the gearing a bit.

450$ for the truck with or w/o the motor/esc/batt? You're gonna be hard pressed to get motor/esc/lipo alone for this much. And if you want wheelies, slap putty in your center diff. Not really what the truggies were made for though. I'm with glassdoc. CRT is my favorite, but I've seen the mutilators going NEW for under 375$ and you can recover some of that from parting it out. The Losi Muggy has been catching my eye as of late as well but pricey...~ 325$ for the roller.. I got a CRT roller for 200$ on ebay.

I like the LSP-R. You can get it on tower for 449.99 - they have a discount every now and than. I like it alot, it is very durable and is a great candidate for BL!

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Well, the lsp-r comes with bullet proof diffs, aluminum arms (strong) and it is a really good set up truggy from the factory. It comes with some parts which you could sell for about 50 bucks.

Yeah, thats the one. Well for the price it really isnt that bad, considering your getting a really good truggy. Plus, you can get a discount every now and than off tower so it is a good buy.

Brandon, I told you what I would do...The LSP-R is the BEST truggy for the money. CrazyJr told me that the bone stock one I sold him handled better than the HPI Hellfire he had raced for several months...I think thats saying something...Not to mention, the Pro-R version has several hopups on it that are just plain awesome. The purple knuckles are like $75 if you were to buy them to upgrade...
