Interesting Outrunner Emaxx - 03.08.2007, 03:16 AM

Interesting use of an outrunner in an emaxx!

Looks like he made a custom extra long top shaft for the emaxx transmission and used it for the shaft of an outrunner motor mounted to the tranny.

Different anyway. Something I havent seen before.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Silent...But Deadly

Are they stronger than the normal inrunner?

Looks interesting, but what about performance?

Outrunners have a relatively low Kv and produce alot of torque. The downside to them is that they're harder to cool (windings on the inside), and they can't be sealed.

They also have more than 2 poles which limits your ESC options a bit.

Interesting idea for sure.. I'm a little weary that he did all that "Testing" that he claims.

(It does look like he has provided some video for the setup though)

Also, the motor plate looks like it was cut with a hacksaw.
