Emaxx driveshaft options

Emaxx driveshaft options - 02.14.2007, 11:53 AM

i was out in the desert yesterday with a buddy and broke a driveshaft. does this part normally break? i must have hit the ground pretty hard after the jump because the 4 spike ball twisted all 4 corners on both the front and rear of the rear driveshaft. what are my options for replacements? i bought the sliders and they came with 2 sets. i got 1 set on and the other i'll use for a spare. i assume that's my least expensive alternative.

You could go 3.3 version of the sliders, but this will entail gettign the arms, knuckles and bulks I believe. Or, you can upgrade to UE, MIP CVD's is another option for you.

To convert to a 3.3 setup only requires the sliders, knuckles, tierods, and arms. The other parts you could upgrade to 3.3 as well, and I would recommend to do so, would be the bulks, skids, diff cases, shock towers, and body mounts.

Yeah, if you step up to CVD's the next thing that will go down are the diffs. with the 3.3 setup you are building a pretty tough drivetrain with a nice flex to keep the parts in tact.

will getting the 3.3's require me to get new bulks?

i assume when you guys say 3.3, you are referring to the tmaxx 3.3. is the 3.3 stuff that goes into the flm hybrid bulks? this setup should be good for when i go brushless, right?

No, 3.3 won't require new bulkheads. You want to go with or have hte FLM Hybrids? Its be best option, but a tad expensive. But yes, the FLM Hybrids w/ 1/8th scale gears will be the best option for when you go BL.

3.3 means 3.3 T-MAXX.
not anything to do with FLM.
i'd say go for 3.3 stuff, if you break that, go to FLM.

I would say get the 3.3 and hybrids with 1/8th gears.

1/8th diffs have a lower gear ratio while standard have a higher gear ratio, I think

the differential itself would come from an 1/8th scale buggy or truck.
e-maxx is considered 1/10th because of the drivetrain difference.
you would need what is considered the standard for 1/8th.
that is like the hotbodies diffs that mike sells in the store.
you need the 3.31 ratio ( those are the non pro ) for e-maxx with transmision or slipperential.
