Wich charger??? - 11.26.2007, 10:04 AM

I look for an Hyperion charger but can't decided between the EOS 1210i or the EOS 0610i.
I have a flightpower pack and a V-balancer, so the integrated balancer is not necessary, and i plan to use A123 pack in near future.

So i think that the 1210i will be right for me, but is the 0610i is better?

Thank you!

well.. if you don't plan on using more than 6S, then get the HYPERION EOS0610I 250W 6S ... but if using more than 6S Get the 1210i

cuz the 610i could charge faster....

the 610i is able to output 250 Watts..
where as the 1210 is able to output 180 Watts, and to charge two packs at one time, you'll need the 2nd LBA10..... if you charge two 6S packs with the 1210i, it would be 90 Watts per balancer/channel...

Balancer??? - 11.27.2007, 03:41 AM

Question? I already have a Superbrain 989 with a 10amp power supply, but I need a lipo balancer to go with it. What can you guys recommend? Right now I have a pair of 7.4v 10,000mha lipos and a pair of 11v 10,000mha lipos from maxxamps, but will probably have ones even bigger later on down the road I just need a balancer that will do a good job so I don't end up frying my investment.

From what I've read (and I just bought one), the Hyperion LBA10 is a great balancer. Just make sure to buy the right cables (2S, 3S, etc).

I personally love my 1210. It’s great. I might be wrong so some one correct me if I am. The 1210 has more options in the long run. If you were charging the same battery on both the 1210 or the 610, by far the 610 would charge faster. The built in balancer is a good feature. The there are more options with the 1210 in the long run. I didn't think the time difference mattered as much as the options mattered. I also bought the LBA10 balancer. Great item too. I know I read somewhere here on the forums that there is another balancer same circuits, different stickers that had more connectors supplied with it. I can't find the name of it though. same price but more connectors.

Do you have links that you can show where to purchase these balancers? What on line companies sell them? What brand name are they under? Thanks Guys.

Thanks. - 11.27.2007, 06:11 AM

Thanks Hickoryhead I just ordered the balancer with harnesses for 1s through 6s plus the adapter to join two balancers together for later use. From Pure Hobby all for $66. At least I can have peace of mind knowing that I will be able to charge whatever I get myself into with these lipo batteries. They said it would go out today in their outgoing mail shipment. Of course going through the APO system it will take anywhere from one to two weeks to arrive here in Brussels, Belgium. That's ok though I want to charge up the lipos before we go on vacation in December, and my 4.5 HV Maxx system is coming in this week from Tower Hobby. That one is going on my UE SuperMaxx. I won't get to play with it until we return New Years. I also have 2 pair of steel pinoin gears (32 t & 45t) coming for my twin Dewalt 14volt setup on my FLM maxx, and these motors are huge. New Year will be fun. If that is not enough I have some electronics on my Xmas list as well. A Quark 125B, and MGM 160 amp, and a couple NEU and Fueigo brushless motors for the other two Supermaxx'sgasp:. Then I have to think about what I want for my birthday in Feb. Come on 2008.

Ha Ha Ha Ha - 11.27.2007, 06:41 AM

hell I am just getting started. Actually I started working on my first Maxx build two years ago. The problem was that there are so many different ways to go wtih these things that I just want to run them all. I started the first build with the Dynamite chassis wtih quad battery trays, and saw other options out there with Hardcore, UE and FLM so I built four different Maxx's. So now I am trying to get the electronics for each one of them set into play. Of course the stock stuff is pretty laim. I want each one of them to be a little different. More fun that way. I am just trying to get my feet wet with the Maxx projects. Once I feel confident that I have learned enough with them I plan on moving in another direction. Hellfire, Jato, XTM/ MMT, then maybe a boat or two. Have you taken a look at this Global Hobbies XTM/MMT yet? It is about 75% metal construction out of the box Nitro, with dual steering servos, and less than $400.

I also hope to do a project sort of like Sikes, and configure my own one of a kind (home made) project with a direct drive setup (no tranny). This s$&%@# is so much fun. Too bad it costs so dammed much, but that is what retirement is for, right???. anyway thanks for the help with the balancer gear.
